Remember when George H.W. Bush first uttered these words in 1988:
"Read my lips, no new taxes" was a promise Bush made during the Republican National Convention when he was selected as the Republican Presidential candidate in 1988. Bush went on to defeat Democrat Michael Dukakis and served for four years. When he came up for re-election in 1992, Bush lost. This was due to the fact that Bush had told a lie - a big whopper - saying he would not raise taxes. The American people remembered. And the American voters held Bush accountable when he ran again for re-election. People don't like being lied to. They voted Bill Clinton into office instead.
Now along comes Barack Obama:
Think the American people will forget 7 lies - and counting! Just recently Obama announced he may forget about his promise to the labor unions to not tax their cadillac health plans should health care reform become a reality. Labor unions aren't taking that news too well.
Here's several other whoppers on "transparency" alone. Showing Obama promising over and over how health care bill negotiations will be shown on C-Span. So the public can see and hear what is going on! Is that happening? NO. Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and their partners in crime are working behind closed doors to conjure up the health care bill monstrosity that the majority of Americans DO NOT WANT. Maybe in the mixed-up world of Obama, "transparency" is a code word for "opaqueness."
How anyone can continue to defend this truth-challenged president is beyond me. (A rare moment of honesty in Washington D.C. was when Congressman Joe Wilson called Obama a "liar" during Obama's infomercial on health care...) Yet, there are still many Obamazombies out there who apparently will follow their Dear Leader over a cliff if he asks them to. Most of us know better. If the American people chose to not re-elect President George H.W. Bush because he told ONE lie, it will be simply amazing if Obama can get re-elected in 2012 over lies too numerous to even keep track of...
