President Obama and his fellow Dems continue to demonize the Health Care insurers as the heated debates and rhetoric continue regarding Obamacare. The Health Care industry has been described as being little more than an evil, profit-reaping, greedy business - raking in huge piles of money at the expense and ills of Americans. Well, it turns out that this created perception is not true.
Too bad this story didn't surface many months ago. At least the news is finally getting out now.
Please click on: "Fact Check: Health insurer profits not so fat" to learn more. The story comes from the Associated Press, so liberals may actually believe it.
Here are just a few highlights:
"Quick quiz: What do these enterprises have in common? Farm and construction machinery, Tupperware, the railroads, Hershey sweets, Yum food brands, and Yahoo? Answer: They are all more profitable than the health insurance industry."
"In the health care debate, Democrats and their allies have gone after insurance companies as rapacious profiteers, making "immoral" and "obscene" returns while the "bodies pile up."
"Ledgers tell a different story...profits barely exceeded 2 percent of revenue in the latest annual measure."
And who can forget Queen Nancy Pelosi declaring:
"I'm very pleased that (Democratic leaders) will be talking, too, about the immoral profits being made by the insurance industry and how those profits have increased in the Bush years."
And MoveOn.org chimed in with an ad stating:
"Health insurance companies are willing to let the bodies pile up as long as their profits are safe."
Truth be told, the Health insurance industry posted a 2.2 percent profit - placing them in 35th place on the Fortune 500 list of top industries.
Hmmmm. Since the Health Care industry has a target on it's back - simply to be used by Obama & Co. as a punching bag, whether they deserve it or not, what industry will the Obama Administration aim for next? Looks like this could be bad news for Tupperware. The plastic storage container's business had a profit margin of 7.5% for the year - a full 5.3% higher than the health care industry! The President and his co-horts seem intent on going after big businesses - especially the ones that are successful and make a profit. They need to be punished! Tupperware makes a profit. Not everyone in our country has Tupperware. That number could be as high as 45 million people in America (some illegal aliens may be included in that figure, just like the count for the uninsured for health care). So, in order to be fair, and in keeping with Obama's desire to "spread the wealth", shouldn't Tupperware owners be forced to either give some of their Tupperware to others? or pick up the tab so the Tupperware-less among us can buy some?

having Tupperware is right. 15,000 people a year die from food not stored properly, maybe. We can only hope the Fed acts soon. Give me Tupperware or give me death.
