Teflon Obama

While prepping for my show this morning, I started to make a list of the types of things that would have knocked any other candidate for office out of the running. I included associations of Barrack Obama’s, as well as gaffes and mistakes he’s made.

I had to stop after 25 minutes because I just had to move on to prepping the rest of the show, but I could have continued on much longer.  Folks, it’s amazing how many passes Obama has received.  I know it’s an overused charge by talk show hosts, but  any other candidate really would have been disqualified  immediately, or mocked until their candidacy was a joke, if they had even a single one of these associations or mistakes.

I didn’t want this post to be gargantuan, so I give just the essentials. But these are all easily researched.

Associations:

Bill Ayers. What other politician wouldn’t even have to answer questions about his long and close association with a known and unrepentant terrorist?

Related to Ayers: This week’s revelation that Obama was a member of the radical ‘New Party’ in the 90s. This is a political party formed by socialists to push the country closer to socialism.  Obama was a member and got their endorsement when he ran for the Illinois State Senate.

Jeremiah Wright. Imagine if John McCain were a member of a mainstream church that was in the least bit controversial. Imagine if he had just gone a few times to see Jerry Falwell preach.  But Obama sits in a radical Afro-centric church for twenty years…week in and week out...and listens to all sorts of racist, vile, anti-American, anti-whitey, anti-Jew  crap, and maintains a very close personal association with this pastor. He gives one hollow speech, kicks Wright under the bus,and so much for that.  No questions can ever be asked…again…

Father Michael Flager: some white priest trying to ingratiate himself to the black community. A modern day reverse step-and-fetch it who spreads the same type of nonsense Wright does.

Obama’s not a Muslim. ….but he does have a number of Muslim associations that haven’t been investigated, including being friendly with Louis Farrakhan, who is another anti-America, anti-white, anti-Jew racist.

--

Tony Rezko…we all know his story.

Obama’s also got a fat poker buddy who is a county exec in Illinois who’s under federal investigation.

Obama’s  close ties to Acorn, and the revelation this week that his campaign paid acorn 800-thousand dollars to register voters and then hid that expense on their election reports.

Obama’s got close ties to Fannie Mae, including Franklin Raines, who skimmed millions from Fannie while running it into the ground, and now advises Obama on ‘housing matters.’

--

GaffesSome call Biden a walking gaffe machine. Obama’s actually worse

He said he’d visited 57 states, with more to go. This guy is running for president and he doesn’t know how many states there are? Isn’t that worse than not knowing how to spell potato?

Joe Biden was called out for plagiarism. Well, Obama stole an entire speech from a black governor, Duval Patrick, and gave it as his own.

Obama often doesn’t know where he is: he’s called Sioux City Sioux Falls. He’s called Brownsville, Texas Brownville. He’s called Rapid Falls Grand Rapids. He’s called Sunrise, Florida Sunshine, Florida..

Obama called a woman ‘sweetie’ while at an event in New Hampshire. That ‘offense’ alone would have ruined any republican politician.

Obama claimed that tornados in Kansas had killed ten-thousand people.  Actual death toll: twelve people.

Obama said his parents got together as a result of the march on Selma. He was born in 1961. The march on Selma was in 1965.

Obama said Iran is a small country, so it doesn’t pose a serious threat to us.

Obama said he’d meet, without precondition, with the world’s dictators and thugs.

Obama said Arabic translators that were in Iraq were needed in Afghanistan.  They don’t speak Arabic in Afghanistan..

Obama called Matt Lauer ’Tim’ three times in an interview, even after Lauer corrected him and said, I’m Matt….

Obama said he didn’t want to see his daughters punished with a baby.

Obama asked a crowd in Iowa…Iowa…if they’d seen the price of arugula lately.

And this is where I had to stop.......

Jeff, have you done a similar list of associations for the other candidate? A reasonable person wouldn't have any trouble compiling a point by point parallel to your list.

There's a good deal of innuendo and supposition on your list as well as more than a few fallacious arguments.

Can we get back to discussing issues now? Or are they declasse among the Right?

Grumps, do you take the time to see who the author is? Why are you pointing the finger at Jeff? On you liberal rag sites are you fair and balanced? Do you do point and counterpoint?

But the right in your mind should! I don't even dare to tell you want that is!

Ok, i will....Hypocrisy

These are some of the issues!

I owe Weber an apology. I typed while one of the salesmen was talking and I typed his name by mistake. Forgive me, Jay.

As for fair and balanced, I didn't ask Weber to share his list. I just wondered if he'd done one. He is, after all, a part of the MSM, on the News Rocket and all and, as such, he owes his listeners both sides of an issue. Otherwise he'd just be a rank propagandist and I know we both think more of him than that.

And then I asked if he wanted to get back to issues. I know that issues aren't popular with the McCain campaign right now but I'd hoped that a journalist like Weber would have one or two ready to fire up.

I'm sorry, Jay, for mistyping your name. Steve, were you saying something?

No Jay Weber is not part of the MSM, he is not a reporter, but a commentator (which gives opinions). I am so sick of explaining that you cannot understand the difference. Just as blogs are biased because they are opinions, which is why you people on the left keep thinking that blogs are facts. They may contact some, but it is opinions.

Wait. I thought talk-radio chuckleheads were just spouting opinions, not facts?

Opinions that may contain facts or some facts with opinions.

grumps, have no fear...I've done a similar list on John McCain. Go check out my blog to read it.

These are not suppositions regarding Obama. Ayers was not a mere neighbor. Ayers is still a terrorist.

Obama worked on Ayers Annenberg project as his director. They worked closely together.

Obama, before he lost his license to practice law, was one of the strongarm lawyers of ACORN, which caused the Fannie Mae crash. Now ACORN has been caught registering 'cats' to vote!

The fact is, Obama's racist, marxist, terrorist, cracksmoking past (he admits it) and his relationship to his Communist "necklacing" brother Odinga DOES disqualify him and he is a fringe candidate. He also is the candidate of George Soros Nazi sympathizer (pretended not to be Jewish so he could rob his fellow Jews before sending them to their death)

The reason the stock market is falling is fear of this man becoming president.

What is wrong with our country and the people that they don't see how DANGEROUS this man is????

Yes Grumps, the copycat Zach has it up for you! Ask him if he has his Obama column updated with:

Obama Muslim Outreach Coordinator Under Fire for Meeting With Extremists

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/10/obamas-muslim-outreach-coordinator/

Since you whined, cried and were upset that Jay didn’t place a McCain column – I think Jay’s title was misleading then.

For you it should have read: Compare McCain and Obama’s …

Again Grumps you just keep proving the left will see whatever they want!

Zach didn’t finish the quote “grumps, have no fear...” underdog is here!

Sounds like NH has been drinking the McCain Kool Aid.

There are a lot of reasons the stock market is falling, and if you think Obama's the cause, then there's really not much hope for you. After all, if Obama were really the cause of the stock market slide, logic would dictate his poll numbers would be crashing, but that's just not the case.

Curious, isn't it?

Zachary, that’s if the poll numbers were real and not fixed, they would.

Silly man.

Steve, I really feel bad for you. Is your worldview really so narrow that you're willing to blame what's happening with our economy on one man?

If so, that's really pathetic and horribly naive.

WOW, Zach you seem to be talking about yourself. Don’t you blame McCain for it? I bet if I look at your blog I will see that.

Zach, John, Grumps look facts are posted here at the links.

The fear that socialism is coming is causing the stock market crash

Investors afraid of America because of Obama

http://forums.hannity.com/showthread.php?t=963241

Now all the sane people including myself know that blogs and forums are not facts, but opinion based. Now some may contain facts, but the intent is not facts now is it!

C'mon Steve, if you read my blog you'd know I don't blame McCain for this economic mess; I just think he's woefully unequipped to adequately deal with the current economic situation. On the other hand, I do believe George W. Bush and the Republicans who controlled the House and Senate for 6 of the 8 years Bush has occupied the White House are in large part to blame.

As for you citing a forum on Sean Hannity's website as "proof" investors are afraid of America because of Obama, I'd just note citing a conservative TV personality's internet discussion forum is hardly "proof" that anyone other than conservatives are scared of Obama.

You are right Zach that is not proof! It must have been lost on you how many times the left blops down links to blogs are proof! Come on Zach don’t you read what your fellow lefties do!

Grumps, why didn’t YOU present us with the list on McCain? Instead, you are asking Jay to do the work FOR YOU!

Grumps states, “There’s a good deal of innuendo and supposition on your list as well as more than a few fallacious arguments”. WHAT? Are we supposed to guess? You know if you spray enough water in the direction of a fire you can put it out with your eyes closed! So what is,” There’s a good deal of innuendo and supposition on your list as well as more than a few fallacious arguments” suppose to tell us? Are we getting hosed?

Grumps - “Can we get back to discussing issues now? Or are they declasse among the Right?” These are issues! Do you believe that these things even exist? Is Bill Ayers an imaginary person? Does Jeremiah Wright have an imaginary church? Acorn? COME ON! You can’t be living in a dream world!

GRUMPS, I CHALLENGE YOU! You say these things don’t matter! Then have the guts enough to answer the following questions! Zack your responses are requested as well!

1) If John McCain was friends with a known domestic terrorist, would you care?

2) If John McCain’s political career had been launched with the help of and in the living room of a known domestic terrorist, would you care?

3) If John McCain was a former member of a political party who’s goal was to push our country away from being a democracy, would you care?

4) If John McCain were a 20-year member of an anti-black organization, would you care?

5) If John McCain had a 13-years business and political connection to a person who has been convicted on 16 of the 24 charges filed against him for fraud and bribery, would you care?

6) If John McCain said Iran is a small country, so it doesn’t pose a serious threat to us, would you care?

7) If John McCain said he’d meet with dictators and thugs of the world without precondition, would you care?

8) If John McCain stated that tornados in Kansas had killed ten thousand people, when the actual death toll was twelve people, would you care?

9) Why do these things not matter to you when they ARE about Obama (with obvious changes like anti-black instead of anti-white)?

Grumps asked, “Can we get back to discussing issues now?”

GRUMPS THESE ARE ISSUES!

THESE ARE THE MAKE-UP OF THE MAN WHO MAY BECOME THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

Now my challenge to everyone else.

If Grumps actually responds to these questions, please grade his responses, not weather or not you agree with him, just if he actually responded to THE QUESTIONS!

1) If John McCain was friends with a known domestic terrorist, would you care?

A) I do care about McCain's links to right wing death squads in Central America and his associations with the Nazi sympathizers on the UCWF. Answer is yes, McCain's terrorist links concern me.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27062761/

2) If John McCain’s political career had been launched with the help of and in the living room of a known domestic terrorist, would you care?

A) McCain launched his political career with the help of a bootlegger and convicted Mobster and that concerns me, yes.

3) If John McCain was a former member of a political party who’s goal was to push our country away from being a democracy, would you care?

A) McCain’s ties to the Kakistocracy and Corporatists in the GOP concerns me, yes.

4) If John McCain were a 20-year member of an anti-black organization, would you care?

A) I think McCain has been a member of the GOP for far longer than that. So, yes.

5) If John McCain had a 13-years business and political connection to a person who has been convicted on 16 of the 24 charges filed against him for fraud and bribery, would you care?

A) I’ll take a pass here because I’m not sure about your question. Are you asking about Ted Stevens or Rick Renzi here?

6) If John McCain said Iran is a small country, so it doesn’t pose a serious threat to us, would you care?

A) If this quote was taken in context you’d see it for the piffle that McCain recognizes it to be. This is a stupidly phrased gotcha.

7) If John McCain said he’d meet with dictators and thugs of the world without precondition, would you care?

A) No. It’s called Diplomacy and it’s the way the world works. You need to get a grip.

8) If John McCain stated that tornados in Kansas had killed ten thousand people, when the actual death toll was twelve people, would you care?

A) No. I put this in the same category as “My fellow prisoners.” It was a slip of the tongue.

9) Why do these things not matter to you when they ARE about Obama (with obvious changes like anti-black instead of anti-white)?

A) Because most of them are trivial and not worth my time, your time or the candidate’s time. Most of these questions arise from a fear of the unknown or an elevation of piffle into something monumental. Let’s talk about health care and Iraq and Afghanistan. Let’s talk about who is prepared to build a winning coalition and seat a competent team in January.

Tony Rezko is going to be a heartbreak for Rod Blagojevich but if Hilary’s crowd couldn’t tie him to Senator Obama then McCampaign doesn’t stand a chance. Ayers and Alinsky were both somebody when Obama was in grade school. That you’d try to make some kind of ideological connection there is like trying to tie John McCain to some right winger who was prominent when He was 8 (Who were the prominent right wingers in 1944? Hmmm?)

Your slanders are foolish, your tactics vile. Even your candidate has told you to stand down. But you’re so tied to jingoism and fear that you have to keep spewing the same things over and over.

Grumps . . . . . .

First of all, thank you for actually putting some thought into what you wrote, I don’t necessarily agree with your statements, but it is nice to see someone from the left with more than a blind swing of the bat. Yes, I do mean that sincerely and that is why I posed the challenge.

Obviously these are not the only things that matter, but they do tell us about the types of people that Obama has associated himself with, not when he was 8, but SINCE he was 8 (FYI Obama was not 8 when he ran for Ill State Senate). It also should enlighten you as to the likely makeup of Obama’s “winning coalition” and “competent team” for January.

In Regards to your questions/statements directed towards me:

1) Grumps, you stated. “Let’s talk about health care and Iraq and Afghanistan. Let’s talk about who is prepared to build a winning coalition and seat a competent team in January.” No problem, pick one, write it up, and I will put it out as a guest post. You can follow up with the rest if you please.

2) Now this one is important!

Grumps, you have ACCUSED ME of slander! You stated above, “Your slanders are foolish”. This I am taking very seriously. I have included the definition of slander from the online legal dictionary.

Slander n. oral defamation, in which someone tells one or more persons an untruth about another which untruth will harm the reputation of the person defamed. Slander is a civil wrong (tort) and can be the basis for a lawsuit.

Yes, I have made statements that are “oral deformations” that do “harm the reputation” of Obama, but you are missing the part that these statements have to be untrue! I DO NOT make things up to post here. I spend many hours preparing posts and include as many facts and references as I can find to back them up. If any of these facts are PROVEN to be incorrect I am intelligent enough to make the correction.

So, Grumps, do you still stand by you statement about me that, “Your slanders are foolish”? As a reminder to you Grumps, slander is oral defamation, in which someone tells one or more persons an untruth about another. Do you have examples?

3) You stated, “Even your candidate has told you to stand down”. Waite a minute! MY CANDIDATE! ACCORDING TO WHO! Yes, I will end up voting for McCain, but he is not MY Candidate. I would vote for ANYONE over Barack Obama! ANYONE! As far as being “so tied to jingoism and fear that you have to keep spewing the same things over and over.” Yes again, I am VERY VERY FEARFUL and I do keep making the same statements over and over because I will not allow them to be swept under the rug! As far as Jingoism, extreme patriotism – I’m guilty, the “use of threats of or actual force against other”s that’s for the left and why my identity has been kept seceret. One of the authors on this site has already had the front window of his/her house shot out. I have heard that there have been threats of lynching on James T Harris for speaking his mind. That’s not coming from a conservitive! Yes there was that one in the crowd in Waukesha who I have heard yelled “hang him” in reference to Obama. A senciable person would gather that this individual was refering to the fact that McCain needs to become more aggressive in exposing Obama. If that person was actually insinuating lynching, as those who were talking about James T Harris were, then that one needs to be delt with and locked up where he/she will not be a threat to society.

Jingoism is defined in the Oxford English Dictionary as "extreme patriotism in the form of aggressive foreign policy". In practice, it refers to the advocation of the use of threats of or actual force against other countries in order to safeguard what they perceive as their country's national interests, and colloquially to excessive bias in judging one's own country as superior to others.

http://www.cqpolitics.com/wmspage.cfm?docID=news-000002974214

The persistent mischaracterization of Ayer's connections to the Annenberg Challenge and to the Obama campaign would be considered to be untrue by the dispassionate observer. You, quite conveniently, skipped a definition; A false and malicious statement or report about someone.

The smears by reference in your questions, as untrue and certainly malicious, meet that second definition. BTW, slander is not the legal term for written communication of those malicious statements, either.

Where do I state anything about "Ayer's connections to the Annenberg Challenge and to the Obama campaign"? Where Grumps? You are making things up again to suit your needs! I asked, “If John McCain was friends with a known domestic terrorist, would you care?” Well here is info on Ayres from Wikipedia:

From Wikipedia: William Charles "Bill" Ayers (born 26 December 1944)[1] is an American elementary education theorist and former leading 1960s anti-war activist. He is known for the radical nature of his activism in the 1960s and 1970s as well as his current work in education reform, curriculum, and instruction. In 1969 he co-founded the radical left organization the Weather Underground, which conducted a campaign of bombing public buildings during the 1960s and 1970s. He is now a professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, holding the title of Distinguished Professor

I did not conveniently skip anything on the definition. I only give the first part of the definition, as it was all that was needed for a clear understanding. Here it is in full:

Slander n. oral defamation, in which someone tells one or more persons an untruth about another which untruth will harm the reputation of the person defamed. Slander is a civil wrong (tort) and can be the basis for a lawsuit. Damages (payoff for worth) for slander may be limited to actual (special) damages unless there is malicious intent, since such damages are usually difficult to specify and harder to prove. Some statements such as an untrue accusation of having committed a crime, having a loathsome disease, or being unable to perform one's occupation are treated as slander per se since the harm and malice are obvious, and therefore usually result in general and even punitive damage recovery by the person harmed. Words spoken over the air on television or radio are treated as libel (written defamation) and not slander on the theory that broadcasting reaches a large audience as much if not more than printed publications

Please note Grumps the word UNTRUE in the definition!

Furthermore, why are YOU correcting me for using the word slander as it relates to written information, as it was YOU ACCUSING ME OF SLANDER! Again, YOU ACCUSING ME! The word you should have used was “libel” rather than slander.

Again, Grumps, what is you grounds for accusing me on this site of slander (libel)!
